Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has chosen Maqbul Ahmad as its ameer for the following three years, as per a public statement of the gathering.
He was going about as the ameer (boss) of the gathering since capture of Jamaat boss Matiur Rahman Nizami, who was executed in May this year, on charge of violations against mankind amid the 1971 freedom war.
"Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's chosen ameer Maqbul Ahmad has guaranteed before the focal official advisory group today (Monday). Jamaat's central decision chief ATM Masum has directed the promise," read the public statement.
The Islam-based political gathering said Maqbul Ahmad has been chosen ameer for the 2017-2019 period.
Maqbul Ahmad, now 70, hosts looked for endowments from the gathering individuals and the general population of the nation, said the official statement
